Aiming at district energy system’s concept understanding, main planning points and energy station design, straightens out and analyses the problems existing in cognition and implementation from the perspective of HVAC engineers. The main points are: 1. District energy is not a specific form of energy, but the integration of various forms of energy systems based on terminal demand, energy saving and emission reduction objectives; 2. District energy is a planning concept, layout, technology roadmap and management of energy aiming at improving district energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption3. District energy planning should be based on the terminal demand, and substitute the demand side thinking for the traditional thinking of comprehensive energy supply4. Construction of centralized energy stations cannot be simply regarded as the ultimate goal of district energy planning5. Special attention should be paid to the study of terminal load in planning district energy system, which is directly related to energy system configuration, equipment selection, energy saving and carbon emission calculation, and economy6. Designs of centralized energy station should adopt the performance-based method, also 7 key points of design should be pay more attention to.
